Lavandula angustifolia
Lavender
The Lavender plant is a woody shrub in the evergreen family, growing 3 feet tall with narrow light green leaves and violet blue flowers. The Romans have used it since ancient times, adding it to bath water and giving it the name Lavender from the Latin lavare, "to wash". It is a think clear to pale yellow oil. Popular today, many are familiar with the fragrance. In it's pure essential oil form, it often smells camphoraceous and even fruity at times.
