Geranium is derived from a plant species that was native to ancient Egypt, Morocco, Madagascar and South Africa. It was introduced to Europe in the 17th century. It is a perennial shrub growing up to 3 feet. The oil is a pale yellow to green, with a strong floral aroma, described as fresh and often sweet and fruity.
